Ramones got back to basics: simple, stripped down rock and roll songs. No shenanigans, no fancy stunts, Ramones straight delivered high-energy excitement back to rock and roll. Matching their demeanor was their famed self-titled album cover – four men with blank faces in blue jeans and leather jackets. Some called it simple, those who imitated it called it iconic. Fun fact: the brick wall the boys are up against is on the outs of a private community garden called Albert’s Garden, located in the Bowery neighborhood of NYC between Bowery Street and Second Street.
